BIOGRAPHY

Nikolas Kasinos is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Cyprus, currently based in Berlin. He received his degree in Film & Video from London College of Communication, University of The Arts.

In 2014 he co-founded OUROBOROS with visual artist Jeremy Carne, focusing on creative and commercial video works; music videos, fashion promos, audio/visual installations and performances. In 2015 he participated in the development and performance of ‘Cyborg Sunday’ by Dinis Machado, which toured for 6 years in various European cities. 2015 was the year he initiated RELAPSE collective with Vasiliki Antonopoulou and Dimitrios Michailidis, curating exhibitions with artists from around the world.

Having as a core performance and video art, his artistic practice involves the exploration of identity, gender, transformation and mutation through the observation of human behaviour as it exhibited in media, popular culture and within socio-political structures. Using his body as a subject - the artist explores the collective representation of ‘the self’ within these contexts.  Works includes live and video performances, short film, audio-visual installations, sound design,
dance and photography.

His short documetary Ρέβ (Dream) was awarded 2nd prize for Best Cypriot Short Film at ISFFC in 2022 and represented Cyprus in the european festival InShort Europe 2023 in Leeds and London. The film was also selected at festivals in Australia, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain, Slovakia and the US.
